Eric Rodgers

My name is Eric Rodgers.  I was 6 years old when I first held a golf club and have been an avid golfer ever since.  For almost 40 years, I have been able to play on 100’s of courses both in Pennsylvania, where I grew up, and now in Tampa, Florida where I currently live, as well as sampling other courses throughout North America that I’ve visited on my travels.

The reason for this blog is to inform my readers as to the price, condition, staff and facilities available at local courses.  I was tired of setting a tee-time at a course and finding out once I’m on the course that it is in less-than-advertised condition.  Even if I researched the course ahead of time, I would find reviews that were sponsored by the golf club or were completely out-of-date.   I think this blog serves a niche and hope you agree.

Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions regarding the content or courses to try.  Thanks and enjoy my blog.

Thanks for your comments. I heard on the radio that Champion’s Gate has a special for Tampa residents at $49. Where in Orlando will you be staying and what do you consider reasonably priced? I’ve played the Disney courses but they are pricey. I will be in Orlando golfing sometime in the next week or so and will let you know what I find out.

  2. Eric,

Would you be interested in coming out to Thousand Hills Golf Course in Branson, MO and reviewing it for your site? Thanks.

      Hi Zach,
Thanks for the suggestion. I am always interested in trying new courses. I hadn’t thought of golf and Branson in the same sentence before though. Can you tell me more?

great blog, great attempt. Thank you so much. We are four keen german Golfers, coming over in March and it helps so much to read authentic reviews like yours. Last year we traveld the Carolinas and made friendship with Jimmy G. (http://greenreadernow.com/?p=1342) a golf enthusiast, who reports about course conditions on a regular basis.

This time we will staying in the Spring Hill area for the first week and at Fort Pierce for the second week. I will be glad to read your reviews over the next months and maybe come around with some questions.

    So far, keep on

      Hey Pat,
Thanks for checking out my blog. Sounds like you boys had a good time in the Carolinas last year.

I’ve played a few courses in the Springhill area; Silverthorn Country Club (http://wp.me/p2qIUy-52), Seven Hills Golf Club and Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club (http://wp.me/p2qIUy-dj). I like Hernando Oaks the most out of these. Last time I played there it wasn’t in the best condition, but I’ve heard that it’s improved since then. I would highly recommend The Dunes (http://wp.me/p2qIUy-bn) which is just down the road in Weeki Wachi and also World Woods (http://wp.me/p2qIUy-gi) which is consistently ranked in top 100 public courses in the US. It all depends on how far you might want to drive.

Definitely contact me with any questions. I would be happy to try and check out courses you might be interested in playing.
